Due to the fact that the sea reaches almost all the monuments, we have called this route the "sea" route.
It is a very complete route and starts out from the Tourist Office in the Palace of Manzanedo, enabling visitors to gain a clear idea of what the town of Santoņa is like and its most important tourist attractions.
It is interesting to note the symbiosis of attractions offered along this route, as it gives visitors the opportunity to visit the monuments themselves and also, natural attractions.
It also combines visits to central areas with area a little further away from the town centre that are also worth a visit.

This route starts out from the Tourist Office in the palace of Manzanedo, passing along the sea promenade where visitors can take a look at the monuments along the way and then climb the steps at the end of the promenade that will take us to the statue of Our Lady of the Port.
From there, we then go to the Fort of San Carlos which is just a few metres away.
We then retrace our steps a little, to go to the crossroads where we take the path to the right that takes us up Mount Buciero, as most of the route runs through the mountain.
This is a mountain circuit that enables us to enjoy spectacular views of the cliffs and both lighthouses and the Napoleonic forts that are scattered all over the mountain.
The next stop is a visit to the battery of San Felipe from where we can see the Lighthouse of el Caballo and its steps, running down to the sea, making a total of 700 steps.
The next stop along the way is at the Fishermans Lighthouse. From there, we then head towards the battery of el Águila and then the battery of La Cueva, where there is a fantastic view of Berria beach.
The next port of call is the Fort of el Mazo or Napoleons Fort, from where there is a beautiful view of the whole nature reserve of the marshes of Santoņa, Victoria and Joyel. From this height we can also see the magazine of el Helechal, which is near the Fort of el Mazo.
Our journey is above to end its run through Mount Buciero. The next stop is at the Vantage Point of Casablanca. Here, the views are quite different, and there is a general vista of the town and its centre, and the bay of Santoņa.
Our last stop in Buciero is to enter the Fort of San Martín.
We then go down to the town along a steeply sloping street that takes us to the Church of St. Mary of the Port. Here, the guide will describe its interior, exterior and history to us.
We take the pedestrial route out of the church and reach the square of San Antonio, after passing in front of the turret of the Mansion of Castaņeda, and ending the route at the starting point: the palace of Manzanedo where, apart from the building itself, we can visit one of the magnificent exhibitions of paintings or photography that are organised inside it
